Oh dear. We seem to play very poorly in the rain. Our most listless defeats were in the rain (against Accrington Stanley and Rotherham in the League, and Coventry in the FA Cup), and we have consistently under-achieved on other occasions in bad weather situations.
Skill is at less of a premium in poor conditions, and physical strength, mental resolve and team spirit become more important. Bad weather makes it more likely that we will be out-worked and out-muscled.
The nascent team spirit that appeared to be emerging during our two most recent league games may enable us to do better tonight ... |  | | |
