The ref disagrees. Said after the game it was a foul.

Which appeal? We appealed 3 times in one move. The initial tug; then his arm over his shoulder restricting his movement and then the lunge with his arm over Norwood's back bringing him down.

Guy I work with who is an Oxford fan and ironically was interviewed by Ipswich Fanzone said it looked like a penalty.

What I will say is Norwood really doesn't help himself at times.

I have to say I really did feel it was a penalty.

I originally thought it was a really good 50/50 tussle, then when Mousinho ut his arms around Norwood and swung him around, it was a bit of a giveaway of a stonewall penalty.

The OP is a great example of one those people who revels in the fact something goes against us. The really annoying person you work with, who knows nothing about football and claims to be an expert. It’s the need to gain attention..... the vast majority (including the ref) believe it was a pen, but I’ll tell you what I’m going to be different... bore off pal

Quite. Maybe it should have been, and I'd have given it (but I'm slightly biased!). But equally it was fairly obvious why the ref was convinced it wasn't at the time.

Same as Garner. Gets to the point where referees don't want to belive him cause he is constantly at it.

Yep - if he'd have tried to score instead of trying to win a penalty, we may have scored.

It's a clear pen for me, or at least a freekick on the edge of the box. There's some 50/50 tussling initially, then Norwood gets goalside and the guy has a first tug at him which happens just outside the box, then as they go into he box the defender has hands all over Norwood and eventually an arm around the neck. None of that is legal and something should have been given. I would wager the fans saying it wasn't a pen would give Chambers or Nsiala pelters for doing the same at the other end and would be saying we were lucky a pen wasn't given.

His trajectory is consistent with the arm around the neck and subsequent movement I'd have thought.

I don't know how anyone can watch that and think it's not a foul on Norwood.

Definite foul.

Anywhere else on the pitch and he's blowing for a free kick.
