He’s done it. I said five years ago he’d turn us into a bang average league 1 side. He’s succeeded.

Lambert should be sacked. Evans should be hounded out and forced to sell.

He’s taken us to league 1. What next? We stay here. Then what? League 2? Conference?

I f****** hate him for what he’s done to our club.

At best he wants the best for the club but has no clue how to go about it. He got lucky with McCarthy, didn’t back him the one chance we really had under him (14/15), and we haven’t looked up since.

Again, McCarthy made it clear he didn't want to upset the balance he had at that time, pretty much citing an 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach.

To suggest funds were deliberately withheld at that point isn't a fair reflection.

And if anyone wanted to beat MM with that, then equally you could understand his reasoning. Why bring in new players if you think you have a happy dressing room and are satisfied with your team?

It was a gamble in hindsight - no arguments there. But for people to just assume if there'd been money spent it would have guaranteed anything is a bit disingenuous.

In answer to the last question, perhaps he should have employed a director of football who actually knows something about football.

Lee O Neil is clearly qualified for the job.

He’s been head of the academy for four years, has a good Cv in terms of coaching and the technical side to the game so he does have football knowledge.

Fact is, the players are letting everyone down. And Lambert must take ownership of that too.

Evans is quite far removed. He subsidises the club and prevents it going bust and has appointed reasonable people to run it. He won’t spend, say, £50-100m on players but then he probably doesn’t have the cash and why should he do that???

He may be, but that is to be determined.

Shame it took Evans 11 years to appoint him.

That really is obviously nonsense, given the investment.

he has been shafted by the massive and appalling shift in football finance and the lopsided power of the prem.

Leicester City were in exactly the same position as Ipswich when Evans took over. Their owners did many things differently to Evans. This included engaging with the fans and the city. Where are they and where are we?

Investment. How much real money of his own has he spent? I don’t know, but the bottom line is the direction of travel for this club has been the opposite of many many others and the reality is we now cannot compete with Rotherham and Peterborough in any way. That for me is unacceptable. Evans owns it, he is accountable. I wish mr faceless would disappear.

Right, but the allegation against Evans is that he has failed to put someone in place who knows about football.

In any event it is really the manager of the club who has that role. Jewell, MM and Lambert all have decent credentials. At other times many fans have actually wanted an unproven young manager - Magilton, Hurst - to be given a chance.

Didn’t he actually say there was no one out there who would do a better job who we could afford?

How can you force somebody to sell? If there aren't any takers, he can't sell.

But there won’t be takers if he doesn’t actively look to sell

No one would deny the club is struggling.

The point is whether Evans can reasonably be blamed.

Of course he has put money in - where has the £60-70m come from?

He doesn’t have the funds of the Leicester owners and in any event they have had the benefit of premiership money for several years as well.

As for connecting with the community I agree that’s been an issue but it’s now been addressed. In fact “PR” PL is mocked for it by some.

What does “actively look to sell” mean?

He’s said the club is up for sale at the right price. He would hardly say anything else.

The point is who would want to buy it??? The club has no assets of any meaningful value and loses £6/10m a year. That’s before any extra funds are required for new players and wages.

If such a person existed - who was willing to throw away good money after bad - they certainly aren’t a businessman. So that leaves fans. If anyone existed who wanted to come forwards don’t you think it would have happened?

Am sure Evans would be happy to sell. But he needs a buyer!!!

Not precisely as I recall, but even then that makes sense and depends how it's interpreted.

If he said that meaning he was happy with his first team and wanted to know he backed them, that's also not really a questionable approach. 'The only way I'd replace this lot is if I could afford *name star here*'.

I dunno.

We were doing well at that point and it's tragic how it's gone since. I'm not disputing that at all.

Leicester were in the Championship at about the same level when they were taken over. Not a huge amount of money was spent by them. They built gradually and did so with every aspect of the club. No need for the manager to beg for a tin of paint for the portacabin there. The owners were interested in the club.

No, he doesn’t have the funds now because he’s hosed the club up the wall. Still, I’m sure he can recovery a few bob flogging off Playford Road (it’s owned separately).

Can he be reasonably blamed? Of course ha can an should be. He owns it and makes appointments and decisions, including whether to clean a tree off the roof. I’m staggered anyone still supports him.

That is the one thing that has never made sense.

Like appointing an ex CEO of the Olympic Association was going to be a better bet than someone with actual authority on football...

Then Milne and co.

Why not just get someone in who knows his stuff. The money it could save long-term could be worth every penny and should [have] been seen as an investment.

Evans can be blamed for employing managers who subsequently failed, but vast majority of managers in football are serial failures. Occasionally an owner gets lucky, but the best you can expect is they recognise a failure and get rid, as he did with Hurst. What they should not do is give an unnecessary and long extension to a manager who is at best unproven at the club. Sends out all the wrong messages.
