I was always utterly convinced that it was Brum until this new lad from Stoke started working in my team.
There's another chap in my team called Richard that he somehow pronounces "wretched", which makes me a lot angrier than it really should.
Is Stoke the UK winner?

Samuel Johnson, the great 18th century pioneer of dictionaries, described the Lichfield accent as the purest form of the English language. He did come from there, mind.
Not sure I dislike any accent, but Glaswegian can be virtually incomprehensible. Especially over the phone and even more so if your hearing is not that good.
Think it depends on who it's on. My wife is Irish and I like her accent, but her brothers grates on me. Can't stand the Welsh accent either, especially the really strong Valley's types.
I suppose it's not really an "accent" as such but that garbled Grime-inspired patois spoken by it seems everyone under the age of 25 in England is awful, especially when it's Josh or Sally from rural Cornwall sounding like they are part of the Peel Dem Crew.
I will put my hand up for the thick brummy accent.
Awful.
I love a soft welsh and soft irish accent of a hot chick..... although I've never met the latter from Wales. NI I have but never managed too........
Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

I really like a nice soft Welsh accent - mostly found in North Wales I believe
