Just had a little read about it. It reads as though Mr and Mrs Schofield will be staying together. He doesn't want a relationship with a man. I find that a bit strange, but none of my business. ( yet I have posted about it )

But his point was obvious, he wasn’t comparing being gay to being a paedophile himself, but saying many homophobic people blur that line. And his point is correct, you don’t have to spend long looking around for those opinions.

My take is if you wouldn’t want to hear it said about your Mum/Partner/Sister/Daughter then why say it about someone else?
It’s really not a radical concept. If you wanna make those jokes in close company with people who know it’s not meant that way then that’s your choice. But I’d fully expect a few friends to call me out on that if I said those words on my social media.

I haven't really been following this cos it looks like hard work but in reply to you:
They're probably really good friends and it's likely she's known for years herself. Their own relationship may have long died in the romance department and it's possible she sees this as an opportunity to explore the rest of her life too.
These things don't always have to end in bitterness and they've probably both benefitted from a great life together; their kids, good memories etc.

I wasn't criticising, just find it a bit strange to come out as gay, but he doesn't want a relationship with a man. Why say anything at all. If his family knew, that was enough.
