There is a long way to go. HE IS ACTUALLY SAYING IT

Poll: Will Paul Lambert be Ipswich Town manager on the final day of this season ?

There's a third of the season left so he's not wrong. Look, all he's ever had is clichés and platitudes so I don't know what you're expecting from him.

He is wrong. It is not a long way. It is the business end and he is killing us.

But yes he is a fan of the old cliche

Only 5 more years of this.

If he is only on old cliches, we won’t hear him say “we go again”

So can be thankful for that

There is plenty of 'long ways' to go in two seasons' time, Exeter, Plymouth, Bradford, Oldham, Newport...

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

You don't think a third of the season is a big chunk of it? I'd say it is. 14 games, 42 points to play for still. If we do somehow fluke our way up though it will be very little to do with Lambert.

What gets is me is how so many were taken in and remain taken in by it.

I mean, he's right and it can all change spectacularly in just a few games - look at Peterborough for evidence of that. But we have to start winning games immediately otherwise yes, the season will be lost.

If you think we are in February and we’ve still got a long way to go you know less than I though you did, and that minimal to begin with.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

We won’t, don’t worry. The players have shown us yet again, they can’t put in a performance, get a result when it really matters and lack the mental fortitude so promotion is a pipe dream.

In football terms I would say no. Its weird we have a lot of points to play for but in my head it doesn't feel like a long way to go, not sure why.

If we go up it will be because every other team in this league is awful, as you say not much to do with Paul

If you have a look at the form of the sides above us, they’re starting to get their act together and building momentum. We’re going in the opposite direction.

It's a third of the season. After 14 games we were top of the league. A lot can happen in 14 games. That doesn't mean we can just wait and wait for things to click, they need to click soon, however there's plenty of games left for us to get the points we need. Whether we do it or not is another matter.
