....When you realise what a remarkable job Mick did with very little financial backing.

I know it’s been done to death and I’m no Mick sympathiser but compared to the investment that others seem to have had under Evans he worked magic to make us competitive in the championship for so long. He probably spent less and almost certainly brought in more money through player sales than anyone else in Evans’ reign.

Similar to Joe Royle who did a sterling job to make us competitive at the top of the Championship with no budget.

A decent manager who can get the best out of the players at his disposal Is what we are crying out for but Evans has a poor track record of finding them..

He might of been hugely over performing compared to budget and unearthing premier league players for peanuts every summer, but he upset some precious snowflakes with a rude word so he had to go.

The only Muff in Town.

I agree with you. Though I'd substitute the term snowflake with the word dumbf##k.

Ah the glory days of MM

We will all gladly remember those fantastic seasons of scintillating football under MM that kept use mid table year after year.

What football fan would want anything better than that, come on, that is what real football is about, overachieving mid table mediocrity and being grateful for it.

Yeah much better having a joke manager and finishing mid-table in league 1 (that's where we are heading), what scenes. BCWYWF

But when you replace someone, you are supposed to do so with somebody better.

At least some of the fans that made the toxic atmosphere and eventually forced him out can enjoy another tour of league 1 next season.

Shhhh don’t state facts.

The fact is that after 5 years in charge he led us to our lowest league position for 50 years. He lost the fans and caused all sorts of problems. Or do those facts not count?

It doesn't change the fact we are worse off.

Cutting your nose off to spite your face and all that.

We needed to improve, not get relegated to prove some point.

I would say that this is now our lowest league position.

Other than offending some people who are supposed to be adults, what are these “problems” you speak of?

9th, 6th, 7th, 16th, 12th in the championship not really his fault MM was paying wages to 19th.

I was pretty grateful at the time thanks.

You are kidding the point. Remarkable job said the OP. Lowest position in 50 years was the reality.

Remarkable job given the lack of funds. Despite bringing in significant funds from player sales. I’d like to see his net spend vs our other managers under Evans. His budget became increasingly less competitive vs other Championship rivals.
