I love the fact a physiologist used the term “cognitive dissonance” as I’m sure I’ve made that point a few times before on here and was told I have no idea what the phrase means and I’m just using big words to sound smart :)
A lot of the arguments here though were exactly what I went through before choosing to make the jump full time. There’s always a choice. |  |

To be fair, the article makes some decent points.
From a personal point of view, Veganism is often associated with a 'certain' brand of people. People who feel a need to stand out for whatever reason.
That's not true for the majority of Vegans, yet it's associated because of a vocal minority.
One of my friends is a very passionate Vegan. She'll share some pics and stuff across social media but she'll never talk about her Veganism past that. She also does a lot in terms of reduction of plastic usage etc. Massive respect to her, because she puts a lot into it and is happy with it. She won't push it on to us though. |  | | |

Yep, it often comes across as self-righteous and pious.
I think the thing for me is that nothing is ever enough, there is always someone who is 'better vegan'.
Now a vegan diet is becoming more popular the 'better vegans' want to now describe those people as merely on a 'plant based diet' as opposed to Vegans.....you'll never be good enough whatever you do |
I think you should consider ITFC super fans, and people that saw bands when they only had 3 fans.
What you are describing is humans, not vegans.

Best thing I've found for roast potatoes is to put a teeny amount of bicarbonate of soda into the water when they are boiling.
Leave them as long as you can to boil before they fall apart.
Let them steam off once you've drained them to dry them out. At the same time however much rapeseed oil you'd like in a pan heating in the oven.
When you're ready put the potatoes in.
Last half an hour (if using more oil) put a sprig of rosemary into the oil and maybe some garlic if you like it. |
