Surprised at the lack of Michael Owen so far.

40 goals in 89 appearances despite injuries, plus only 1 of 4 English winners of the Ballon D'or,

Pre-injury he was as good as any striker on the planet.

I would humbly disagree.

The reason why Clemence didn't let many goals in at club level was because of their brilliant defence, at International level he had some howlers.

Shilton all the way for me - followed by Seaman

I was just too young to remember Banks in full.

Shilton was overrated for me. Maradona and that goal against Germany did for him.

In my lifetime, for me there have been the following players who I feel are complete legends.

Gordon Banks
Bobby Moore
Kevin Beattie
Stuart Pearce
Paul Gascoigne
Gary Lineker
Alan Shearer

Fill in the spaces around those & you have a great team!

Certainly not for me to question Sir Bob and Hoddle was included in the '86 set up.

Like many top players he did struggle with injuries didn't he.

Maybe that explains the later omission? I don't know.

I do know Hoddle had the ability to set any pitch alight though.

Similarly, Matt Le Tissier should've been an awesome player for England, given his talent, but for some reason, never was at that level.
