Well done for having the balls to ruffle the feathers of Lambert today. I got the sense that here’s a man very much in the comfort zone. He needs to understand this isn’t good enough. Well done, you.

Was actually surprised the point was contended as I think it's nailed on that our wage bill is one of the biggest in the division, I wasn't trying to discuss that. The crux of the question I was trying to get to was essentially the one he answered in terms of the club's history etc and not having any God-given right to a place in the top two.

Absolutely. WTF is he on. With most of the other teams limited to an income relative wage bill, of course, we are one of - if not the, highest wage bill.

It was a desperate distraction tactic.

Can you ask him next week if the rumours about him getting a bronze statue in Dortmund are true?

Bang on, Phil. Thought you were being totally reasonable. He was defensive and borderline contemptuous.

The response you've had on here corroborates that you are doing a great job. Keep it up.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Well done, about time some serious probing questions were asked. Thought Lambert came out of that badly, and there wasn't really any need to be such an arse. That drinking comment was childish and disrespectful.

Marks a stark contrast to the utterly spineless and pathetic 'questions' asked by Brenner and Watson. Well done Phil.

Perhaps he'd like to write out the questions he'd prefer, then have them printed as handouts for you guys.

In advance too so you all have time to learn them.

Already happens in the case of those clowns Brenner and Watson. They throw softball questions at him and he knocks them out the park. Phil, to his credit, actually challenges Lambert as opposed to trying to be his mate.

Brenner is absolutely awful, from the questions to the commentary.

I agree with that answer re no God-given right, of course he's correct. Man United wouldn't deserve to win League One just because they're Man United and have the biggest wage bill.

The point I made was that given the club having one of the biggest wage bills the players were right to be talking about targeting automatic promotion when they were talking in those terms earlier in the season, following on from an earlier question along those lines.

Phil.
To clarify, you got the point across, in that we are big spenders and have a great infrastructure.

The problem is
1) PL can't get the best out of it
2) The players aren't 'earning the right' as he said.

His reaction was then back to the players. He's telling us that he's OK (jack) and it's the players who've not earned the right (played well enough).

Is there no reference you have to hand which would have buried him with the wage bill part. That would have caused a real melt down.

Oh, I wasn't being rude or petty, not at all.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Having just watched the video I feel that Phil's questions got the answers they deserved.

Sorry, but PL was absolutely spot on.

He states that; Regardless of the size, wage bill, talent, of the players and club.....you have to earn the right.

He's telling us they need to go out there and play in League One. Maybe some are still elsewhere in their minds.

PL has this completely nailed on.
Get out there and beat them. If you're supposed to be better, rise to it. Unless you've got the balls to stand-up and earn it there are players who are at their max in this league who will smash you all day long.

Look at Man City. They are nowhere near Liverpool. Arsenal, Man Utd, Stoke, to name but a few.

Wages and talent mean nowt without heart and balls.
Pl - spot-on.

If you want a defensive, tetchy and underperforming manager who takes no responsibility for his relative failure then he is your man.

I wasn't actually making a point about the wage bill specifically, I took it as a given that we have one of the biggest wage bills in the division, was just setting up the question about the players being right to say they were targeting the title/top two given the overall context of the club in this division.
