I had two new and enjoyable experiences last night 09:55 - Feb 18 with 1519 viewsGeoffSentence

Firstly, having brought a bigger telescope at the weekend, I got my first telescopic view of the Orion Nebula, which is something that floats my boat.

Secondly, a short time later, I accidentally laughed at Mrs Brown's Boys.

Funny goings on around Betelguese apparently...

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

What scope did you get?

Very hard to see the Orion nebula with the amount of light pollution around here.

Just wait till you have an iffy takeaway and then experience funny things happening around Uranus.

Skywatcher 200

8 inch objective mirror, which is just about big enough to make out the nebula, even with the 'seeing' a bit crap like last night.

Looking forward to taking a peek at some other deep sky objects and getting a better view of the gas giants.

The people I bought it off have upgraded to a 400, dunno if I'll ever do that, but it is the way of telescopes to always want to get a bigger one.

My next door neighbour is always up to something interesting, no need for a telescope for that.

I expect you will be applying for your astronomers government grant Mr Sentence.

Don’t worry, I’ve also laughed at Mrs Browns Boys. The guilt wears off after a week or two.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Why did you need an Orion Nebula to float your boat? Does it have a hole in it?
