Almost any mention on here of anything related to Israel can be a hot potato, so allow me to be brave and throw a hand grenade into the forum! Actually it's nothing that explosive, just found the following quite interesting and a little surprising.
"The law is similar to others passed in recent years in more than 20 states, including Texas, Arizona, Arkansas and Maryland, Mitchell said. His organization has been involved in fighting such laws nationwide, including Georgia’s."
& press conference:
UPDATE: Link didn't seem to work, feel free to YouTube search the following video title: "Abby Martin Sues Georgia Over Israel Loyalty Oath Law [Full Press Conference & Interviews]" If interested.
Press conference (as shown on YouTube) video description: On Feb. 10, Abby Martin filed a lawsuit in federal court challenging a Georgia law requiring all independent contractors to sign a pro-Israel pledge.
Abby is working with two civil rights organizations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund (PCJF).
Here it says: https://apnews.com/796ae3c36b7f58594207308855b7bfde "This story was published on Feb. 10, 2020. It was updated on Feb. 12, 2020 to show that a Georgia law requires some people to sign an oath pledging not to boycott Israel, not the Israeli government. The story also was corrected to show that they have to sign the oath to do business with the state of Georgia, not to do business in Georgia."
As I said above, I was quite surprised by some of that, although given it's the good ol' U.S. of A. (that would move heaven and earth for Israel), perhaps I shouldn't of been!
It's all very bizarre that in the supposed fight against extremist and fundamentalist Islam we're expected to blindly hand our support to extremist and fundamentalist Judaists and Christians.
You'd think we'd have learnt by now.
