Unmistakable voice of local football reports on BBC Suffolk.

What a shame, have always liked his quirky reports on Radio Suffolk. Seems a well educated guy with a great sense of humour. All the best Simon.

Sad to hear, been a voice I’ve heard a lot from and a sign you know you are listening to Radio Suffolk for a match day and won’t be the same without him

Only just realised who he is. Yes, half times on iFollow won’t be the same, that’s for sure...

Very sad. Heard his voice at half time and full time for years. As you say, unmistakeable and match day on the radio won’t quite be the same.

Not being local, I don't know the guy, but he sounds like a part of ITFC furniture almost.

If anyone has Twitter (I don't), get some of the nice words from this thread onto his post. I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Sad news indeed. Have enjoyed his quirky commentaries and reports on Radio Suffolk over the years. Like a Suffolk version of Barry Davies.

Also saw him at various non league grounds in Cambs and Suffolk quite a few times.

My thoughts are with him and his family / friends.

Very sad news, really enjoy his reports - so distinctive. Think he was a teacher at the RH in Holbrook years ago.

Very sad. A familiar voice of Saturday afternoons from distant Suffolk.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Sad news. Such a distinctive voice, literally and metaphorically; an excellent interviewer and ebullient summariser. He will be missed. RIP.
