I’m not sure if you’ve ever been racially abused but it’s not nice. In fact it’s degrading and really quite humiliating. Thankfully it doesn’t happen all that often at all at PR - in my experience that is.
But one or two racist, homophobic etc chants is too many and deserves to be stamped upon.
I do recall reading a thread from a poster on here (sorry I’ve forgotten the name) but he happened to be gay and was fearful to go to matches because of a couple of ‘fans’ who knew that he was gay. That is totally unacceptable.
The club has a duty to raise this and if necessary ban the culprit(s) for life. Calling a player s**t is one thing but abusing his colour or sexuality is abhorrent.
In one of your comments you mentioned that it’s ridiculous to say that all four parts of the stadium are hotbeds of hate - just because people aren’t throwing bananas at black players it does not mean that more subtle forms of racism or xenophobia doesn’t happen. The RAF song directed at German players, the continued chants of ENGLAND directed at foreign players all just as bad. In the past I’ve heard the ‘get your tits out’ directed towards some women - again awful.
Everything has a beginning and an end. The end is the monkey chants the beginning is casual abuse. Nip it in the bud before it starts.
I don’t think that Ipswich has a large scale problem but we all know that we have ema dozen or so idiots.
Please don’t think I’m targeting you but some of your threads do seem to downplay the clubs right to take action. |  | | |

I'm not remotely saying that there is an epidemic within ITFC fans, but it DOES happen. If I have heard it, others will have too - given the reports.
It happens everywhere, in all walks of life.
I'm not saying you're saying this, but the attitude of "I haven't heard it, so it isn't a thing" is really problematic. It happens. It should get called out.

I agree, I'm just cautioning that we don't need to make this a bigger thing than it is. I guess by not having heard this stuff then it seems to me to be a small number of idiots that don't happen to be near me. Absolutely they should be dealt with, even just one of these offensive chants/shouts is one too many, but we should be careful not to come across like ITFC has a real problem which may put people off attending.
I guess it's a fine line. I also guess if reports have come in from all 4 stands then it must be a bigger thing than I've realised, so I could be barking up the wrong tree here. | |

The people I hang around with wouldn't say these things, so it can be easy to think it doesn't happen. When I do hear something it's shocking and very out of the norm and I imagine it happens around me more than I have heard as well. | |
