I went into the day resigned the the fact that we probably would lose this game. Struggling to find the motivation to care because there's been nothing to care about. It's looking likely we'll not go up so realistically we lose Downes. Wolf and potentially Dobra and Dozzell. So we bring all these players with great potential and then sell them off only to reinvest the bare minimum into a squad with a manager who seems to struggle.
That's an attack on football in general as well. There's just no way for teams to hold on to their better players when bigger clubs buy up any potential young talent - throw enough poo and it will stick somewhere.
That doesn't excuse the fact that we've massively crapped the bed since December. |  | | |

Wait until we sell Downes and Woolf for peanuts in the summer. ST renewals sent out with the usual bluster. "Funds from sales will be reinvested". Those two players go. We'll be linked with the cream of league one. Then we'll sign a Bulgarian trialist who has immense pedigree as he scored three goals for the youth team of Polish third division side Elana Toruń in 2003 and once said hello to Berbatov's cousin on a weekend trip to Veliko. |  |

Until Evan's goes, we will continue to decline. He is not prepared to invest heavily and the mediocre players we can afford can't handle the pressure the fans put on the team. That leaves only 2 routes of this:
1) We sink so low, there eventually is no expectation
2) Evans leaves and we someone comes in, to start sticking some serious cash in. | |

Financially we're stuffed. Last summer we had the windfalls from the sell-ons but we won't have those again. Then there's the ffp rules, not sure of the details but I think we're only able to spend a percentage of our revenue on wages.
