Even with Lamberts ineptitude we will still finish in the playoffs. So it's not like it makes sense to bring someone in for a free hit this season. That hasn't worked out for us this time round anyway!

We’ve won 5 games in the last 4 months. There’s no way they are going to get the 7 or 8 wins to get to the play offs let alone be competitive in them. We’re awful. One of the worst teams in the division. Thankfully our excellent start means we are not in a relegation battle. | |

Certainly puts Lambert’s top two aim into perspective doesn’t it. Someone earlier mentioned we’d finish 12th. I wouldn’t bet against that. But we also could win all our remaining games of course, but er yeah.

To even finish in the bottom half of this league with a (relatively) supportive owner financially compared to other clubs at this level and 15k fans coming through the door would be an absolute shocker - we won’t get into a relegation scrap in the league as the standard is so low.

Don't really get this attitude.
There are 10 games left of this season. We need to be *brilliant* in our run-in to even have a chance of making the play-offs. We'd then need to negotiate 3 games against the teams 3rd to 5th, none of which we've beaten.
Neither of those things are going to happen under Lambert. It's delusional to imagine he's suddenly going to hit on a formula and everything will be alright. So, the choice here is between passively letting this season end or rolling the dice and hoping a fresh set of eyes makes an instant improvement. It is painfully obvious which choice we should make and, sadly, just as obvious which one we will. |  |

Anybody can see that now would be the time to change it if a manager is available that we’d like for the long-term. Jones would appear to tick plenty of boxes and would get a few months to work with the squad, line up recruitment etc before next season. | | | |
