Missed 3 pens 1 retaken.
That side would beat our current shambles 20 nil.

I was fortunate enough to be there. What a fantastic day. Unfortunately, I was also at Old Trafford for the 9-0.

Were Man U very good then tho? Didn't they get relegated a few years prior?

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

They finished 2nd that season and us 3rd so they were quite good but we ripped them apart on the day.

I was there that day. What a day, one of my best ever supporting Town. IIRR, I was sat over the concrete fence in the East stand turning back to my Dad going lairy. It was brilliant going into school on Monday.

On my crate, in the Churchmans.

Gary Bailey was a busy boy that day, mostly collecting the ball from the back of the net.

Cor, didn't realise it was a top of the table clash. Cheers PJH.

I am not certain but I think that they actually might have been top of the table going into that game.

Liverpool won the title as they often did back then.

Just looking at the final table Man U only conceded 35 goals in their 42 games so we put more than 17% of their season's total past them that day.

We had a really bad start to the season and ended like a Japanese bullet train on a kilo of Colombian.

Yes, we lost 11 league games that season but the 10th one was on 1st December 1979 and the last one was the last game of the season on 3rd May 1980

Taking into account the start of 1980/81 season we only actually lost three league games in the year 1980.
