Yes, it was the tone of boo that was the problem.
When they booed Lawrence at Fulham but say they were really booing MM the tone of the boo made it sound like they were booing Lawrence.
It gets very confusing.

I'm confused. Isn't 'mmm' usually used as a purr of appreciation when enjoying a chocolate, or a sexual act, or both?
In which case isn't 'MM' a loud, if somewhat short, version of that same purr of appreciation? Therefore to be booing MM seems to me to be an oxymoron.
