I think he’ll resign tonight 21:05 - Mar 3 with 7008 viewsGlasgowBlue

Can’t get this squad playing a tune in League One. Can’t see how he can improve us next year with three or four of our youngsters being sold in the summer.

If he’s got any pride left then he will, he’s not going to turn this around. But he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that will walk away and out of a lucrative contract.

He labelled it a must-win game so if we don't win that must have a consequence, otherwise he needs to be quizzed on what he meant by that.

If Lambert were to resign he would have done so in December when he could have gone to Sunderland, but instead Evans gave him a five year contract.

I think so too, it just has that feel about it. Although, I'm bloody fuming with the players' tepid display, absolutely disgraceful. Make no bones about it, that shows the character of this team and why we find ourselves where we do. They can't even go down fighting and have no pride in the shirt.

I hope You’re right. It’d be an honourable thing to do in the state we’re in. Although he may hang around as long as possible, because I don’t see where his next job is coming from.

Why would he? This is clearly the end of him as a manager and he's got a five-year contract to rinse as much money out of possible.

I would be astounded.

Best we can hope for is a long chat between him and Marcus at some stage in the next 24-48 hours.

He won't and he shouldn't.

He should force Evans hand and wait to be sacked. It's not Lambert's fault some idiot gave him a lucrative 5 year contract.

Might teach Evans a lesson when he takes the hit.

This club. A 5 year contract.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Does that leave us in a better place or a worse one?

Lambert has been sh!te but this was our opportunity to get up and we've blown it. Now what?

Losing our best players in the summer is just going to make us even more of an average League One side, whoever the manager is.

no way.
Has he ever resigned before?
He will say the boys are brilliant and only a couple of wins for play-off chances to be on again

A tune? He's struggling to get a note out of anyone.

That had the look of a rudderless and incoherent team, which isn't surprising given the quite bizarre selection choinces. But worse than that it looks like they've all given up and Lambert doesn't know what to do.

I've got that dead man walking feeling. Don't see how he can stay (although I still think ME will be slow to act).

My respect for him would actually increase massively if he does, but not a cat in hells chance that he walks away from a presumably lucrative payoff in what will be his last job in football outside of the dregs of the SPL

We'll see, he is probably a proud man and will accept it has gone very wrong

It's sad to see

The rumour I have had suggested to me is Warnock in as Caretaker and possibly a longer term replacement such as Mowbray who's position at Blackburn is potentially unstable, particularly if Blackburn are hit by Financial Fairplay Penalties

Apparently Town have approached Mowbray several times when the slot has been available in the past but he didn't quite feel it was the right time

Would it be that lucrative? If there's a break clause as has been reported, then he's probably only walking away from a couple of months pay.

He'll just call Evans' bluff and keep bulsh1tting. Between the pair of them I don't know if I could be bothered any more.

Phil posted the other day that he understood those clauses to be further down the line and thus somewhat expensive in the next 2 years

So yes, if that info is correct it appears it would be, relatively speaking anyway. And it’s not really a surprise, as otherwise what benefit would there have been to Lambert agreeing it if we could just terminate it now anyway?

Even his ego should tell him it’s time to slope off quietly & hope East Stirling come calling.
