So there IS a break clause in Lambert's contract 18:32 - Mar 4 with 1318 viewsSouperJim

For those who didn't pick this up from Phil's Warnock story earlier:-

"Lambert's contract... break clauses were included in the deal, one of which states that the Blues boss would receive a greatly reduced settlement if he were to be fired at the end of the season with Town having failed to make the top six."

Fantastic news. Surely Evans will pull the plug?

He will be sacked when it’s not mathematically possible.

As was the case with Magilton.

The clause is when its mathematically impossible to reach the playoffs, which it's not yet

Or this from the EADT

"but it's understood there are performance-related break clauses in that contract and a general cap on the pay-off required to part company with both the Blues boss and his staff should owner Marcus Evans decide a change is needed in the hot-seat."

Note the word 'understood, so unless Phil has actually seen the contract then I think we still are in the position of speculation.

The same as was with Redknap's appointment, where a fair few got their fingers burned betting on that 'certainty'.

Who knows?

The fact it is claimed there are break clauses doesn’t make it true.

Unless there’s a mutual agreement to terminate early.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Makes sense, and I think that will be the case if they part company will be just before the end of the season. Gives time to line up a long term replacement e.g. Nathan Jones....not Warnock
