Almost like PRP plays the press as well as the crowd. We have a journo on here that has written dozens of threads to take a positive light on PRP. He writes in the same way as this chap with lots of deflection.

Was a strange article.

Especially the part which derides 'youth team coahces' for having an opinion.

"Sarcasm" did not come "first" on Tuesday. Even in SBR, overall, the most notable thing was the sound of silence as first moments ticked by with no discernible attacking from a side selected to underwrite that.

I just did a quick bit of googling club accounts after reading that. Unfortunately the last Fleetwood accounts I could find were 2018 as it doesn’t look like they’ve published last years yet, but their wage bill was £6m. Ours last season was £19m. Obviously they’ll be a decent drop in ours this time around and theirs will have increased but the idea that theirs is larger seems incredibly fanciful

Suspect the comment about key players earning £1,500 a week has some artistic licence but is probably grounded in truth - eg. Someone like Woolfenden is probably on that amount

The bit about only spending a fee on one player was misleading too, as completely glossed over the relatively expensive freebies (at this level) and loan we brought in, and ignores the fact that spending fees is quite unusual at this level (Transfermarkt indicates that buying KVY makes us the 4th biggest spenders this season, and most of those above us have significant outgoings)

Few other minor errors on quick reading, five-point plan rather than five-year, Steve McGavin doesn't work at Norwich any more and he and some others, such as Kieron, moved on for better opportunities (or to look for better opportunities) elsewhere rather than due to cuts or a change of thinking as suggested, although I think the latter is true for some other coaches.

Re the contract, as far as I understand it there were matters relating to contracts for the rest of the staff still under discussion which meant that although there was an agreement in place much earlier for PL's deal, it wasn't signed until after those negotiations had been sorted.

Oh, and wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the young players in and around the squad are earning £1,500 a week, I made the same point on here the other day.

" Though there have been suggestions there is an option to release him at the end of the season if he fails to reach the play-offs, The Athletic has been reassured by two sources close to the manager and the club that such a clause that states he can leave without any compensation does not exist. "

So again nothing concrete just assurances.

Which merely affirms my point that nobody beyond those directly involved knows for absolute certaint . And the concern is those with an axe to grind will use this speculation for their own ends.

The deflection going on though is ridiculous. PRP is going to follow keane is overstaying his welcome and making the hole bigger and bigger. Both of them should have been sacked far quicker, it was so obviously not working but the damage continued. PRP should be getting far worse than jim and mick got

I fear you will be gravely disappointed when Lambert is replaced and things don't get any better (except in the shortest of short term).

Keane was replaced and things didn't improve. McCarthy was replaced and things didn't improve. Hurst was replaced and things got worse. Even when Jewell was replaced, things eventually turned sour (tho it took a few years).

95% of managerial appointments at any club turn sour, it's just a matter of how long it takes.

I can't believe anyone at all can watch what gets delivered on the pitch and not see that the manager is adding zero value. I can assure you that things will improve without PRP. The only negative is that the new manager will probably be working without our standout best player this season but I would still back them to achieve more.

PRP has the selection skills of keane and the tactical awareness of Jewell, I actually think that is possibly harsh on Jewell as well

“He’ll have to sort it out for himself”. - he said this about the one manager he had who was making us competitive in the Championship. Interesting to read about McCarthy wanting a loan striker and the long desired creative midfielder in January 2015 only to be fobbed off. And the article’s worth it for the bits about use of GPS vests pros/cons etc. Would like to see what posters like unstableblue make of it. Scepticsm about a “progressive” move but quite well argued for all that.

The lack of communication between Hurst and coaching staff is eye-watering.

Not usually straight away.

Plus this is more about Fishers' apparent position that everything would be alright if only we can get rid of Lambert.
