The club really do some good stuff 13:25 - Mar 8 with 1368 viewsNewcyBlue

Had a letter for Seb’s birthday.

Junior blues who turn 7 in March get some free tickets and and a goody bag for the Southend match on 4th April.

Sounds good. Start of Easter holidays too.

Unfortunately, we had mentioned the National Space Centre previously and he would still prefer that.

The club really are doing some good stuff though, 8 kids tickets and 2 adult tickets. Goody bags for all the kids.

They need to keep the fans on side somehow.

Better that than the constant sniping of 'fans' such as yourself!

It's just a shame none of it is on the pitch.

That's a nice touch from them though.

Yes, nice touch.

It is good and really, really important they keep up this side of things.

Traditionally a community club, some have seen that as a bit soft, but it's so important it cannot be underestimated.

The club need to do more if anything to target the locals as a future support base.

Meaningfully that is, not patronisingly.

Lambert is rubbish we know, but give it a rest here, eh? This is a genuinely nice thing.

This is the sort of thing I mean when people claim the club is ‘rotten to the core’, when the reality is it’s not great off the pitch but that’s far from as important as what is on the pitch

Locals?!

Honestly if we were doing better then I would try to convince Seb that one of our last weekends this leave should be down in Ipswich. But I honestly think he will enjoy Jags and rockets far more.

Locals, and you.

Real local is more yokel anyway.

You know what I mean.

Those with a connection then.

To be honest they are very good with sort of thing. My son had a heart & lung transplant he got a letter from the club signed by player's & MM. Apparently a nurse at Royal Papworth new he was a Town season ticket holder notified the club.

It’s a great initiative and certainly a great off field gesture from the club.

... BUT the challenge is encouraging younger fans to attend games. In all honesty the quality of football isn’t great. The players are very average. We also lose a lot and have trouble scoring.

So although there is some good stuff off field, the on field leaves a lot to be desired.

Good call from Seb to go to the National Space Centre.
