Kids seem to be the safest. Cheap holidays away from the hysteria (so definitely not Italy) would be the best medicine about now. If schools get shut just watch the rush on trips to Spain etc! |  |

Or an alternative scenario is you take advantage of the cheap flight, catch Coronavirus and unwittingly pass on the virus to a friend, colleague or even stranger with underlying health conditions before you know you've even caught it yourself? |
But if I am carrying on a relatively normal life, i.e. still going to football, going to the gym etc then there is probably as big a risk anyway - let alone people who are commuting to London from Ipswich on busy trains and underground systems
I'm not going to do it, and will stick with Great Yarmouth but personally don't think it would be a particularly selfish thing to do unless it was a choice of self isolate or go on holiday, which it currently isn't. | |

Not sure I follow the logic of assessing your risk and then deciding because you're already doing things that increase the likelihood of contracting the virus to essentially double down on it.
I'm not calling it selfish on your part, just laying out a potential scenario based on your decision (if you take it, or anyone for that matter) to take advantage of the cheap flights. |  | | |

I've seen some cheap flights but just can't risk it now, not just the element of getting stuck somewhere, but the risk of returning with it and becoming a "super spreader"...not a title I'm keen on...Away Days Beer Company, Corona Super Spreaders.
I had been planning a trip to Nepal using a private Sherpa guide but had to break the news to him that I wouldn't be coming now. Will admit to having had troubling thoughts about going to see my mother (in her eighties) last week. |
This is a real bind for me. My 81 year old Mum lives alone and already gets lonely (especially at the weekends for some reason) so don't know what to do: See her and risk infecting her, or not see and leave her even more unhappy. |  |

When I talked to her two days ago she has said to me 'don't think about coming to England (from Sweden) at the moment' you might not be able to get out again'. And today when I discussed going home, my sister said 'be aware, you might get stuck here'. I don't really get what they mean. Just come back from Amsterdam and worried about this same getting stuck thing. What put my mind at rest was looking at the totals of infections over there and here, which were pretty similar, so why would one shut itself to the other? Could be wrong-headed, but worth considerring. | |

Indeed. The projected 'peak' for UK infections is apparently a couple of weeks away if current trends continue.
I know a 'travel blogger' who is planning to continue travelling to multiple destinations for the foreseeable, despite having just returned from Italy. Personally, I find that pretty irresponsible behaviour. Just because you're young and well doesn't mean you should potentially put others at risk. Especially by visiting multiple destinations. Just stay at home and watch telly in your pants ffs. |  |
