Self isolating 21:04 - Mar 10 with 999 viewsvapour_trail

I am being asked, a lot, what people should do if they need to self isolate, but live with those classified as vulnerable.

I can’t find this advice. Anyone done any better?

Trailing vapour since 1999.

Basically it seems like you isolate yourself to one room with a window and take extreme caution cleaning the bathroom/kitchen etc when you use it.

Truly impaired.

Yes that’s all I’ve found.

Everything I've found so far basically says to follow the NHS advice as closely as possible (advice for carers, etc). So probably not too much different.

Sister in law is Type 1 with majorly compromised immune system and we can’t find anything sensible. Whole family isolation is all well and good when there isn’t someone vulnerable in that family.

I’m not sure it’s very practical for a lot of people.

Which is fine if it’s the best we’ve got.

There’s a lack of honesty as to the scale of the problem though.

I run a comms operations for quite a large organisation. We are at the point where government guidance is just about to prove materially insufficient, which for the country is pretty sub-optimal.

I suppose practically there are no further answers.

I suppose when my [late] father was receiving Chemotherapy it was maybe a bit similar, in the sense that he was vulnerable to germs with little - no immune system.

So it was a case of keeping relative distance and washing down everything that you may share. Obsessively and repeatedly.

If you well unwell then apart from keeping out of the way as much as possible it's an impossible situation isn't it. You've still got to breathe.

I know masks are being considered as relatively ineffective but you're going to try anyway if you can bloomin well find any to purchase.
