Insurance companies not paying out for coronavirus 05:20 - Mar 16 with 1147 views | allezlesbleus | I have just been reading up on Business Interruption insurance and it appears that if the UK goes on lockdown, like many other countries, Business Interruption Insurance WON'T pay out to businesses who are forced to close.

They will inevitably try that and it will be challenged in court. It will be down to the specific wording of each contract. I suspect the government might have a few things to say about it as well. SB

The government has already said it hasn't it? It seems obvious to me that is what, at least in part, the support for business means. To be candid many of the Insurance 'products' in the UK aren't worth the paper they are written on which is why when you take out insurance for projects the negotiaiotns fit cover can take a long while and include the input from lawyers. Insurance is another thing that needs urgent changes

The amount of taxpayers money going to support the various 'private' industries asking for taxpayer support makes the costs of 're-nationalisation' - a freebie & how many fo those industries / companies are foreign owned e.g. British Airways & Heathrow
