Coronavirus Isolation Help Thread on 06:47 - Mar 17 with 9330 views | bluelagos | https://www.findipswich.org.uk/ Said it before, these guys are going to need your help more than ever for 3 reasons. 1. There will be more people than ever struggling and in need of help 2. Donations will take a hit as people prioritise stocking up 3. Their volunteers are mainly the elderly (needed to sort, pack and to deliver) So if you want to help but cant volunteer, am sure any donations would be gratefully received. And if you can spare time, they will need people who can help with deliveries. This takes about 2 hours on an afternoon. You will need a car. I am going Monday,, if anyone wishes to tag along and see how it all works, pm me.

Coronavirus Isolation Help Thread on 12:19 - Mar 17 with 9127 views | Darth_Koont | Great thread! This is by far the best thing we can be doing and sharing. "Caremongering" instead of scaremongering by Darth_Koont 17 Mar 2020 12:16https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-51915723
"Scaremongering is a big problem," she tells the BBC. "We wanted to switch that around and get people to connect on a positive level, to connect with each other.
"It's spread the opposite of panic in people, brought out community and camaraderie, and allowed us to tackle the needs of those who are at-risk all the time - now more than ever."
With the information still difficult to interpret even for experts re: Coronavirus, it really makes no sense to spread opinions and certainly to spread panic*. There's just far too little concrete and consistent data to jump to any lasting conclusions.
Like our stickied help thread, I think this is a way for people to use their imagination in a positive way and make the outlook better. It's also stuff we actually understand and can use our common sense towards.
*And if you're under 50 with no underlying health concerns then there's little need to panic. If it's out of concern for family and friends at risk then that's the last thing they need anyway.

Portishead, Quantocks, Barnes in London, Edinburgh and Gothenburg, Sweden. That's my network of family and friends so anyone needing anything around there, just holler.
