UK Approach to this crisis 13:07 - Mar 16 with 1056 viewsJoey_Joe_Joe_Junior

Seems to be getting a lot of stick (apparently on twitter everyone now has a degree in medicine). However, the idea to not fight and mange this outbreak seems sensible to me and if it get's some kind of immunity into the population all the better for down the track.

It's basically impossible to lock a population down anyway. Interesting to see what happens in South Korea and if they get a second major outbreak it will be trouble

There is no real 'right' answer - this is all about mitigating the situation.

Our approach is logical and appears sensible and backed by data but the long term situation is we are still likely to see a lot more self-isolation (not just the 70s and above) going forward - way more than we are at the moment.

I doubt we'll get full lock down like China and Italy but I've no doubt the 'nudging' the government are doing is to, in effect, encourage people to take responsibility and self-isolate a lot more.

Too many opinions on twitter, or agendas against the government for anyone on the fence to form a sane opinion on this.
I go from ‘we’ll be ok’ to ‘oh fckin hell’ from report to report

I'd be a lot happier if WHO were not criticising our approach.
