#JohnsonMustGo trending on Twitter 02:17 - Mar 17 with 33541 views | monytowbray | I hope his press conference tomorrow puts some strong business and vulnerable people support in place. Although I have no idea what could be done at this point. It’s political unchartered territory. Why can’t we just have all the info now? Or is this like a Netflix series with a cliffhanger at the end of every episode? What’s episode 3? More information about the pumps teaser?

#JohnsonMustGo trending on Twitter on 07:36 - Mar 17 by monytowbray | I’m worried this is your last stand on all this. To get personal and claim vendettas. Usually you are quite reasonable for at least looking at the evidence in front of you. Calls to have me banned despite doing nothing wrong. Perhaps address what I posted at face value instead? |
Last stand? What on earth are you on about? I don’t want you banned Callis but your constant threads, full of panic and political point scoring, is making TWTD a less pleasurable exoience at a time when all TWTD’ers should be standing shoulder to shoulder* *a couple of metres apart obviously.

Half the posts aren't even about the virus, they are just standard anti-Tory posts taking advantage of a really awful situation. SB |
Believe what you want behind why I’m posting this. What I say never gets taken at face value by a few on here anyway. The points are there to read and take in if anyone actually wants to discuss or reassure anyone on evidence. I’m going for a last small snooze before getting up for work.

#JohnsonMustGo trending on Twitter on 07:41 - Mar 17 by monytowbray | Alarming he’s being shut down by an expert for pushing the line our government were pushing 3 days ago though, surely? |
Three days ago before new evidence came to light to suggest what we were doing was not going to work. Look, we can argue the toss about whether we should have done all of this sooner but the measures we're talking about are going to last months. At the same time, we've taken the new evidence and formulated a new strategy. This is a good thing. It's also probably going to happen a few more times as the entire world works out more and more about the disease.

I’ll address your OP if you want, the one in which you say one thing in the first paragraph about it being unchartered territory and you don’t know what could be done, then in the second paragraph you completely make a mockery by asking “is this a Netflix teaser, will we get another cliffhanger tomorrow” You have answered the question on the 2nd paragraph by your last line in the first paragraph, but you being you can’t just leave it there can you, most people would have respected you for that, including myself

I stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone and everyone. But I’m going to hold our government accountable for their actions. Like, you know, they should. I have done nothing to deserve a ban based on the rule of this forum Again, is anyone here going to address those links or is it easier to just attack my character instead? Because you Glassers of all people I’d expect with your views on anti-semitism, continual political posts and annoyance about the denial of evidence should be holding yourself to a higher standard. That’s not a dig or point scoring, I genuinely expect better from you.

One of the disadvantages of splurging out large quantities of guff is that there is not enough time in the world to post balanced replies to each and every one. Many people have posted many balanced replies to you over several days. You have ignored them all and dialled the flapping up to 11. Please stop. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I have a choice today. I can take the Callis route and run around the house screaming at my kids that our income has dried up and we are all going to starve before living on the streets and it’s all Boris Johnson’s fault. Or I can stay calm, look at my options and take whatever steps are needed to get through this and attempt to come out of this crisis relatively unscathed.

Now is not the time to try and hold our government accountable, now is not the time to want to have a “I told you so” attitude. Now is the time to listen to the advise that is being given in a quick changing situation that is changing daily and hourly and allow the experts to do their job and try to steer this country on the right path that is right for this country and the people of THIS country. Sod what is happening an other countries, no 2 sets of people and cases are exactly the same, each country has to deal with this in a way that is right for their people and their demographic

Or maybe it’s just one out of a mass of companies who are making kits whole the government are choosing not to buy from, or maybe the government didn’t know this company were producing the kits. It’s would be like a supermarket criticising a consumer for not buying bog roll from them when they went to someone else and bought it

I think the WHO have pointed the finger at the UK with their test. test, test message. Listening to the NHS professionals it seems that testing of medical staff is insufficient and much of their necessary equipment is not available in sufficient quantities - that is unforgivable.

Or maybe you are ignoring the fact it wasn't until yestreday the government moved (according to suppliers) to get companies (JCB???) to produce equipment. Many are small niche companies and already have staff self isolating. The move to get stocks and supplies increased should have been done when it became obvious it was going to get big. I don't think it sensible to compare NHS procurement with supermarkets

Can't be arsed to read all of your nonsense but from what I have seen so far it seems to you desperately trying to latch on to everything to attack the Government and PM. I imagine you gleefully willing more deaths to be announced so you can post so more. It is quite disturbing. Post what you like back I won't engage any further

#JohnsonMustGo trending on Twitter on 07:41 - Mar 17 by WD19 | #Callisbeingaflappingfanny trending on TWTD. .....and that is being generous.... |
I’ll paraphrase something I read earlier. Downing Street, September 1 1940. Mr Winston Churchill held a press conference to update the nation regarding the military conflict with Germany. WC: “We have information that very shortly the German Luftwaffe shall be carrying out bombing raids on the city of London. When this happens people will be asked to immediately go to the nearest shelter.” Beth Rigby, Sky News: “Should people go to the shelters now Prime Minister” WC: “No Beth. They should only go when we sound the warning sirens”. Seven days later when the sirens sound, Callis posts on TWTD. “But they said we didn’t have to go to the shelters last week. It’s a u-turn and a shambles. The Tories are trying to wipe out poor people. Churchill must go”.

It is good that we’ve (partially) changed tack now, albeit belatedly. However, plenty of people who know about these things knew we were taking the wrong approach. And then when people on here tried to point that out, they got shouted down by a stock ‘follow the science’ response, when the government weren’t following good science, as now proven. So you go for it Callis. The government have been useless and their incompetence may well have lead to extra deaths. Even in an attempt to move towards doing the right thing, their switch yesterday hangs some of the most financially vulnerable people out to dry. They’ve a chance to put that right today and hopefully they’ll take it. Oh, and she can’t answer the schools question because there’s an inconsistency in their approach still. The only answer she could give was ‘we haven’t got enough capacity in front line services to deal with kids being off too’.

So where do you think kids are safest? At school or out roaming the streets or in supermarkets with their parents? Would you be happy if someone told you that x% of the frontline services had to be taken offline too early because the parents were at home looking after their kids (the least vulnerable people in our society)rather than looking after the most vulnerable people in our society? Look at the bigger picture not just what is in front of your nose

Ganging up too. It’s pathetic. Government rightly have questions to answer about how they’ve handled this so far. There’ll be differences between countries for sure, but we’re not so different as to need a completely different response on the virus, as they’re now slowly starting to realise.
