I've always regarded the 'Thought for the Day' slot on BBC R4 Today prog as a total waste of time. Today's, however, was as powerful piece of radio as was Ian Wright's time on 'Desert Island Discs'. The moral of all this.....If your family members are 102 or 2 years old then cherish them. In these troubles times, no one knows just how long they will be with you (or you with them). I avoid it on principle given their refusal to accept a proportionate number of non religious people on ot. Don't doubt that some of them will have poignant observations though. |  |
