Board advice: 12:37 - Mar 18 with 3802 views | homer_123 | A few mates have suggested a round of golf tomorrow or friday. No meet and greet, no shaking hands, staying 2m or more away etc. To be honest, with everything going on, quite fancy a few hours with my mind elsewhere....question is....should I?

Board advice: on 12:39 - Mar 18 with 3747 views | allezlesbleus | Do it. It is likely that the UK will be on lockdown by next week and you won't get the chance to play for a while.
Board advice: on 12:40 - Mar 18 with 3743 views | Sarge | Personally I would. Mentally it would be hugely beneficial and physically it seems very low risk.
Board advice: on 12:41 - Mar 18 with 3716 views | monytowbray | Golf to me sounds pretty safe. I have to keep reminding myself it's easier to socially distance rurally than in the cities. I think all major cities would be better off shut down right now, but then again it's just gonna make people travel elsewhere and spread more so it has to be countrywide or nothing. My Mum said people are already coming into Lakenheath from out of the village to raid our Co-Op. Bloody Mildenhall and Brandon immigrants should p1ss off back to where they came from

Board advice: on 12:42 - Mar 18 with 3706 views | clive_baker | Depends how you intend on getting there to a certain extend. I would guess by car, in which case you're probably OK. Drive there, play a round, head home. Good for your mental & physical health.

Stay out of the club house afterwards though.

Board advice: on 12:53 - Mar 18 with 3636 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Go for it, as long as you are taking the necessary precautions, it must be safer than a supermarket shop. I,m contemplating a little solitary fishing trip, if I get the chance.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

It's up to adults to make their own decisions, but my golf club has cancelled all upcoming social events & golf events that create social "gatherings" are likely to fall by the wayside.

I'm thinking that I'll get some fishing in ,if possible, that's if we don't go total lockdown.

Board advice: on 20:22 - Mar 18 with 3239 views | Ace_High1 | Yes been debating this at work. Golf is about the only sport right now that is safe and good for you. As long as you don't go in the club house, then the only interaction inside will be just to pay for the round. Once outside, as long as you are not in a large group and are walking around then go for it. You use your own clubs, out in the fresh air, always on the move. Just don't pick up the flag!!
Board advice: on 21:23 - Mar 18 with 3174 views | GeoffSentence | Being outside in the open air is probably the best place to be, so long as you keep the other pestilential golfers well away.

Board advice: on 21:34 - Mar 18 with 3165 views | jeera | 2 things; why would any civilised human adult choose to play golf? The other, as a complete aside, where's the default photo of Phil playing golf? I thought it was a prerequisite of these threads.

fishing is perfect, sat alone by the river. lock down for me would mean walking my dog at silly times but I normally take him at 5am anyway, so never seen anyone about
