Not complete lockdown - every day that we continue as we currently are will effectively extend the period by 3x or 4x that we'll need to be in (almost) lockdown to get the virus under control.

Bizarre response, no it’s coming from the rapid spread of the virus and the inability of people to heed the government advice
That's quite a bizarre response too. The UK government response to date has been scandolously inadequate.
Granted it is probably impossible to stop or even slow the spread of a respiratory virus but the government could at least have tried to implement something sensible and practical - perhaps learned something from other countries - rather than plunge their head in the sand
If the advice is don’t go to pubs, and the plea is to please follow the advice, then pubs will have no customers. That would be the result if the advise and pleas are followed.
A simple way to ensure that, is dump the advice, and implement closing of non-essential activities.
There must be some rationale behind that progression of advice, strong advice and then forced closure. Well I would hope so anyway.

Given we have a different set of circumstances, demographic, resources etc the government are taking the right steps when they need to so that we can protect both the people and the frontline services, as has been said in reality a certain number of people do need to catch the virus.
If we had gone into complete lockdown when there were 15 people dead from it do you seriously think that the people of this country would have taken any notice?

no you mocking people like callis with that is bizarre, when we know he has a mental problems in the past.
I’ve been stuck indoors for 8 days so actually I was ahead of the curve on government advice. Or at least the correct advice after 3 days of being wrong.
The sooner all social gatherings are stopped the better. There are far too many selfish tvvats about. I have seen two examples on social media this evening. First being Unit 17 or whatever it's called opening tonight. Second being a some sort of meeting amongst car enthusiasts. They have even called it "Anti Corana meet." I mean WTF how selfish and irresponsible can people be. This has really got my blood boiling.

Tell me about day 1 of no schools (technically not enforced until Friday but still) and saw two massive groups playing and mucking about near my work. I’m taking a group of 10 or so 14/17 year olds all with nothing better to do than hang about with parents at home who have clearly had enough of them already.

Not sure about lockdown. Just wish people would listen, not socialise and stay in as much as they can....as it doesn't seem the advice is being taken seriously
The aftermath of this will see the NHS and police playing catch up for years. The economy will be at or worse than directly post the 2nd world war. But as long as some people get their toilet rolls that's all that matters
