"What if people ignore the advice?"
"What if people don't want to stop going out?"
"What if young people have house parties?"

FFS why can't we expect people to take a bit of responsibility for themselves?

Truly impaired.

All week the questions that are being asked are getting more and more strange.

‘With it being Mother’s Day on Sunday, would you advise people not to see their mothers and will you be visiting yours?’. What a waste of a question opportunity

People have been ignoring the advice. That's been a huge part of the problem. Particularly actually the older generation don't seem interested in keeping themselves and others safe from what I've seen of late.

Close the pubs and bars so they can claim insurance and reduce the battle between patrons who feel guilty and are still going out.

They wont be getting into any licencee premises. huge fines will be issued to offending operators.

Cant stop house parties I suppose.

Its probably gonna need a military effort to sort some people out. Still as long as they have got plenty of Bog roll eh.

Closing to claim insurance is completely correct, should have happened sooner. But it’s finally happened.

People still need to accept responsibility for their own actions. I went to the post office today to post a very important document, there were still plenty of people down the town centre.

They need to take ownership of not only their own health, but their actions too.

Tougher guidelines should have been pushed on what is essential IMO. Doesn’t help when Johnson’s own Dad goes on TV to undermine the entire “don’t go to the pub” thing the next day.

I feel much more relaxed about the whole thing now. We can focus on beating the virus rather than worrying about everything else too.

Most do have forced closure insurance. You only need to stick you head into the hospitality industry and look around to see that.

Many a restaurant/venue/pub/gym owner will sleep easier tonight.

The vast majority of businesses wont have forced closure insurance they will have standard business interruption cover and that's not the same and that wont cover them for this.

That must be why there’s been mass petitions and open letters to the Government flying around all week demanding closure then...

Over the last few decades our society has gone further away from a we society and more a me society. It's all well and good asking people to take responsibility for their own actions but when they don't give a feck about anybody else but themselves and possibly those in their bubble, when something like this happens we have a problem.

For an example there are already pubs posting on local FB pages saying they will still be open on mothers day. It's not martial law we need but certainly consequences for landlords and landladies that flout the rules.

I kind of understand why you may feel that. If that ever happens again, just remember that the guy stopped at nothing to get where he is. He lied and cheated his way to the top. So he has to own it and deliver.

Agreed people need to take more responsibility - that's been an endemic problem for a long time. Especially important now. Responsibility and consideration are nowhere near as common as they should be.
