The Ministry of Defence have been told to be on standby for complete UK lockdown as of Sunday evening at 6pm... No one is to leave their home's unless you work in Front Line Retail or the NHS...

I heard this directly from my neighbour Trigger who is best friends with a guy called Boycey. Boycey knows a guy named Del who drinks down the pub with his uncle Albert. Albert was in the Navy during the war so knows his stuff.

Please pass it on.

You really think? I bloody hope not, I really need to go to my office (on my own) for at least two days a week.

I'm in the same boat. Need to man office so others can work.

Yep...by Monday it will be way way more stringent.

I don't need anyone to come in. I can get to work and get back without seeing anyone.

I really can't see a complete enforced lockdown that soon to be honest.

If or when it happens you'd think they'll be some common sense applied.

If you're alone with your laptop and briefcase on the A140 with a clear reason there can't really be a problem.

If you're wearing your Magnum PI flowery shirt and shorts with your bucket and spade on the back seat then anyone pulling you up might want to know what that's all about.

Afraid I think you’ll be asked to stay home.

We are speaking with govt daily about some of the services we provide and whether we can have exceptions for certain staff in the event of restriction on movement.

It’s coming.

Soon I'll have to chance going to the shops for cat food.
I reckon the odds on me surviving the armies bullets are better than me fending off a mad starving cat. She's already decided she's going to kill me and now she's just figuring out how and when.

And you think this is coming imminently?

As far as I am aware (and I could very well be wrong) only Italy and Spain have 100% lockdowns with other countries allowing travel to work?? Maybe France as well.

I don’t know about imminently but I’ll be surprised if we are not in a very different place this time next week.

Neither of those were 100% lockdown either. In Italy people could still go to the shops and offices were still open. The Italian president has closed all non-essential businesses only this evening.

Aren’t the french issuing on the spot fines if you are out without good reason?

I think shopping is good reason.

And they have left the tabacs open.

I'd agree with this completely. Our government has been following the same timing of decisions which Italy made, but obviously just on a lag. Italy closed schools on the 4th March, then placed the country in lockdown five days later on the 9th. Counting five days on from school closures Friday past, I'd be amazed if we aren't in a lockdown by Wednesday.

We’ve been taking a lot of decisions at work on where we are relative to Italy as that seems roughly where we are heading.

Well those sound realistic fines.

They may as well just shoot people on the spot.
