Same as the original Italy lockdown too. That initial lockdown was 2 weeks ago and the last two days has seen numbers start to fall, but still huge. We won’t see any impact of these measures for at least 2 weeks, so hope of seeing it ended after 3 weeks is unlikely,

The only thing is we don’t seem to be as high in number of cases as Italy despite testing more people (compared to them two weeks ago) so our peak may not be quite so high.

They are not though "business as usual" they are trying to tell us with over 500 contractors working on site and all having to sue up and enter through site security.

All building sites are to shut as of tonight by the looks of it, as not considered essential.

Yet then contradicted by Govt minister 30 minutes later

Information by drip feed. I assumed that was the correct interpretation (it can be the only logical one given what we're facing), but that's the first time we've seen "key worker".

It could never be anything else though.

Yes, just seen that and was going to post it. They need to get their messages straight. Hopefully we’ll see some clarity tomorrow.

I don’t see the need to keep construction sites open. Govt should cover their costs for this period and prioritise keeping people safe.
