Our mail was on Keepsafe while we were on holiday. Should have been with us by Monday.
I rang on Tuesday, and got told they'd raise a query with the local delivery office.
Nothing happened, so I rang again today.
I gave the helpful lady the various reference numbers and she told me the delivery office said there wasn't any mail to deliver!
I pointed out this was inherently improbable over a period of five weeks.
She then managed to get hold of the delivery office manager who said he'd found the mail, the person who'd answered the call centre's query 'didn't know how to respond to it properly (in other words, he/she couldn't be arsed to process it properly).
They've promised it'll be delivered today if he can get somebody, if not it'll be tomorrow.
I'm sure the coronavirus is causing them many problems, but isn't an excuse for not doing your job properly.

I wondered if they're still running at all.
A postman neighbour's car hasn't moved this week, (maybe he's unwell), but I've received no mail for probably 2 weeks.
I wondered if numbers had been cut in sorting centres to help with distancing, although I've probably made that up.
Maybe I'll suddenly receive 5 weeks worth at once. |  |

I've just been speaking with the DVLA & DWP (latter was 7 mins to get through the initial menu, then another 15 mins on hold ...DVLA no phone option at all, only 'chat') to request documents. The guy I eventually spoke with in DWP said their experience with the Royal Mail lately is that they're running a week slower than normal both for incoming and outgoing, ie letters now taking 10-11 days instead of 3 or 4. |  |
