Agreed...but it’s not just hand shaking that’s the problem in the corporate world. Over the last 10 years there’s been a definite increase in kissing and general over tactile behaviour too before meetings.
There’s one particular female I work with who insists on hugging and kissing everyone she meets, even when she only saw them yesterday.

I feel weird and awkward about people who kiss too. I think it's a cultural or generational thing that needs to die out. I find it even weirder when it's someone you've just met. I've certainly had incidents where it's happened outside the work place which have led on to obvious passes from people I'd rather not. | |
