GK was my favourite position when I was a kid. Think is was the whole being allowed to dive around in the mud that appealed.

Paul Mariner - had the lot, including a mean streak. Wonderful Centre Forward. Who can forget the twice a season misery (3 times one season!) he inflicted on poor old Willie Young?
Kevin Beattie - when he rumbled forward with the ball, the crowd just held their breath. Great tackler, header of the ball. He was actually still learning the game (especially reading it) when injury did for his career.
Frans Thijssen - lovely player. Opposition couldn’t get the ball off him. Enjoyed watching more than Muhren.
David Johnson the Second - good player, fabulous finisher, great character and a very nice bloke
Allan Hunter - great Centre Half and character, who never got mugged over by anybody.
