Keeping your hand in away from work. 17:08 - Apr 2 with 931 viewsMelford

Put my Chef's whites on and deep-cleaned my kitchen for 3 hours earlier.

After I've cooked my dinner I ring the doorbell a couple of times and swear a bit.

I’ve been out for rounds on deck (the garden).

Found one of the crew making a mess (a rabbit had a cr@p).

Otherwise all is running smoothly. I called the Captain (shouted through the doors to MrsN) to let her know all is well.

Did my weather observations (looked at the clouds).

Time for rest before I go back on watch.

I drove around Ipswich for 12 hours. Usually go further afield, but alas not allowed at the moment.

I dug a big hole in the garden, then spent 3 or 4 hours staring at it an trying to put it into archaeological context

That’s something I’m not doing as regularly as I do at sea.

I wish I could join in - my lords and masters are brainstorming the future once the restrictions begin to lift and the thereafter.

Trouble is they keep roping me in to the discussions and don't like my answers (or "COA"s in management bollox speak)

Would I be being overly crass if I suggested you request a bit of 'Greek' from your missus to make the 'at sea whilst on land' experience more authentic?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I’ve been banished to the Officers Lounge because of my smelly farts. At least it’s close to the Galley should I require grog.

The admiral who invented grog was MP for Ipswich in the 18th century.
