1. Is there any work going on on the railway tracks, taking advantage of the low traffic?

I think people are shopping locally more, rather than drive 20-30 miles to the nearest big supermarket, they visit the local, smaller versions. |  |

Pre planned rail work is going ahead but for a number if reasons I don’t expect additional work just yet because:
- it can take months of planning
- the majority of lines are still open much of the day
- network rail absence rates may not allow it
- network rail staff would have to work near each other, would this be ‘essential work’? |  | | |
