I normally shake hands and thank her.

You shouldn't be shaking hands at the moment. How irresponsible of you.

Why do Young Conservatives usually look like a comedy parody of an 80s businessman played by Steve Coogan?

Now I shall spend the rest of the afternoon trying to work out what Boris' heroics have been.

To be fair sundown is well after eight the further north you get and there are streetlights on in the background of that clip. Clearly twilight...but enough about the young lads mental state...

This country is just not geared towards anything that needs effective state response - because essentially the government doesn’t believe in it. Add in starvation of funds at a local level for years and it’s no wonder that every action has been late and too little. I was chatting to somebody yesterday who was telling me that his mate returned from Spain last week. No checks, no quarantine, nothing. What chance have we got of getting rid of this virus if we don’t even bother to check out who is coming in?

No, I didn’t clap for Boris, but I wouldn’t wish virus this on him or anyone else, unlike the Mayor of Heanor. I was pleased that the Labour Party kicked her out so swiftly.

" but I wouldn’t wish virus this on him".

I never understand the need for that caveat.

I certainly don't wish it on him either. I possibly don't care as much as I would if it were a real person, but that's not to say I want him ill or worse.

But your mate's anecdote sounds concerning. People can still wander through without so much as a temperature check? That doesn't seem right, no.
