This lockdown time has apparently meant there’s been loads of deepthroats around as well.

I’ve not ticked any off though.

Time to roll out the old joke - Linda Lovelace's dentist said she had the best teeth he had ever come across.

First cuckoo of the year heard by me (which, given my damaged hearing, is remarkable in itself) on the Isle of Skye around three o'clock this afternoon.

Lots more birds, bees and squirrels in the cities as they are not being hit by cars . I have a tiny pond in the back garden, walked out this week and a heron rose up between the fence and trampoline, Those things are huge taking off from a confined space I shaat myself, one fish down so have put netting on pond. On a positive I have blue tits in a nest box and have vanquished a pair of persistent magpie in a tree with a plastic bag and a load of sheite cds from people with no taste. If I was at work I would be none the wiser.

Not relevant but anyway...

I followed a sparrowhawk along a country lane today and caught it on dashcam which was good.

The last time I followed one along a road I felt all a bit privileged and didn't expect it to happen again.

But yes, there it was, swooped in front of the car and stayed a few metres ahead of me (social distancing there - clever creatures) and was obviously scanning the hedgerows.

The speed they travel at yet are able to take in their surroundings; remarkable.

It stopped twice and perched itself as it became irritated by my car's presence, and when I slowed to look at it more closely it just re-joined the road and carried on as before.

Barely inches from the ground at some speed.

I don't like that they take the pretty birds from the hedgerows, but you can't help but marvel at the things, their skill and damned efficiency.

Made my day anyway and have I have watched it a couple of times since on the laptop.
