An important member of the great/very good teams that Don Revie built and I was lucky enough to see.

Get well soon.

I'll never forget how his missed kick cost England a place at the 1974 World Cup, and lost Sir Alf his job.

And who replaced Sir Alf as England manager?

Normally, Hunter would have put the ball & Polish player into the stand, but as England were under pressure to win the game, Hunter decided to be a bit cute & messed up. Shilton would have saved the shot 9x out of 10.

I was lucky enough to see him play a few times. Not only was he as hard as hell, but he could play a bit too.

I love that, after the initial punches were thrown, Motson "wonders" if the referee might have sent them off. Different gravy back then!
