Looking at the article think this could get really messy. Think it will solve 80% of the issues, but not all. You may have a club that no longer wants a player, who is coming to the end of their career - and do not wish to extend the contract. Likewise, maybe one of the higher earners, that the club needs off the wage bill. An example maybe Luke Garbutt - not sure how much we are paying towards his wages (but assume a percentage), but Everton could say - we do not want his contract extended, there is no benefit to Everton at all, only more expense. | | | |
