Its almost a relief that we've balls the season up. 20:10 - Apr 15 with 1075 viewsDubtractor

Bear with me here.

If we had managed to be top at this point and yet still likely to be cursed to another season at this level it would be doubly gutting.

At least we've all already accepted that we're having another season at this level regardless, so binning the season off is of no great consequence to us.

Though the concern is, that if this season is expunged (love that word) now, that Lambo will get another chance to fail.

Marcus has business interests in China, he knew about this early on. Lambert signed the contract with the prime objective being steering us into a safe place in the table away from the promotion places.

I'll happily have Lambert here another ten years if it means this poxy virus can be defeated.

But yeah, we are certainly in the 80% of teams who are either totally unaffected or saved by a voided season.

Yes, that's true. Even were we top two and ended up being promoted it would be a really crap way to do it. After the last 15 years we've want the right to enjoy a promotion properly.

I hear ME has also heavily invested in 5G and towers will be built on Martlesham Heath any day now

Agree with that, but fact Lambert gets another go at it is a big worry

I wonder if at least he might improve with his hand forced and starvation rations. He can't lean on the Hurst stuff any more and we are securing Dobra et al. to play them.

Fewer resources did nothing for Keane and Jewell's competence. I doubt it'll do much for our Worst Ever Manager.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

If he does he’s a very lucky fella. You’d like to think that he’d have a real look at what went wrong this season and look to make changes in his managerial approach. I’m not sure he thinks he’s made too many mistakes sadly. Also, that squad isn’t good enough, new players are needed in key positions to make us a real threat, but I just worry that ME will be even more stringent with available funds for transfers, which is understandable based on the current financial situation. Seems we’re going to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. The encouraging thing for me is the hope that more trust will be given to our younger players and they get the chance to perform regularly, but they need the good, experienced pros around them to help them through and we haven’t got enough of those currently.

But relative to the rest of the division we are no longer bottom three spenders etc and the calibre of our kids should help us focus the balance a little better.

He’s a specialist in failure as somebody once said. The win percentage from his last four jobs is utterly abysmal.
