I'm sorry Mr Jackson... 10:28 - May 22 with 1883 viewsBluefish

I'm not that fussed about him going if we can get a fee for him. I think he will score goals because of his pace and I do think he has improved the rest of his game but I am still not convinced by him overall.

A fair comparison i suppose would be DJ Campbell, he scored loads for us but no one in their right mind would have him over Murph or Didz.

I would like to keep Jackson because he gives us a direct pace option up front but if we can get back the fee or more then sell him

Agreed. I think if we could recoup what we paid, then I think I would sell him, but that seems very unlikely, so we may as well keep.

I'd be fine with Jackson going by BlueBadger 22 May 2020 10:24
At this point, assuming Evans somehow sees sense and sacks Lambert, he's worth more to us as a reliable goalscorer who could contribute to a promotion attempt than selling him off for far, far less than we paid for him.

Keep him. He's more than good enough for this league if we can get a manager who can get us playing as a unit, rather than leaving up up top chasing shadows 30 yards from our nearest other player.

Agreed, not convinced at all still.

Any chance we could recoup any of that 1.5m that I would take it gladly.

Although nothing will be reinvested.

But where and with what money might we get a new Didz or Murph to replace him?

Think about it this way Blubbers...

If you're happy for him to leave you're essentially green lighting Paul Lambert on being in charge of replacing an 18 goal gap in our team.

You know as well as I do that he's not up to the task, let's just keep Kayden until we have a manager that we can trust to do some sensible recruitment.

I think he'll probably still be here unless a good offer comes in. No panic on comtract. Be surprised if champ team takes him honestly. This is his level if he wants to regularly start games. Posh would be most likely destination when they sell.

I agree i'm not convinced on him yet. His pace is a threat but not a great footballer. Lankester/Sears may push him for a spot. I'm more hopeful on Norwood as a scorer still if his groin is sorted. I'd still like Keane back but understand reasoning and will have to be cut price wage.

The main departure we should all be hoping for is Paul Lambert.

And how competent was the manager who signed them, more importantly. Do you really trust Lambert to replace him?

OK so he will probably sign Quaner on 40k per week to replace him and bankrupt the club but he will say lots of nice things about the fans so get off his back

Which division were we in when they were signed? Are we going to get Champ-level free transfers in L1?

Plus we'd paid out a fair sum in loan fees and wages already, before they became ours.

You are not convinced by 11 goals and 7 assists?

If we were in the Championship, based on how he performed in his first season I would agree with you but he has proved he is more than good enough for LG1.

The division is relative and Didz was playing in league 1 when he arrived

Thread started on decent and then, in the least surprising move ever, it became all about Lambert. Again.

I'm not sure i do defend him. I've said he can have no complaints if sacked. I accept i'm in minority that think he's done ok with the younger lads and i'd give him at least start of next season to see that through with El Mizouni, Dobra, Lankester and co. I won't lose sleep if he goes but i haven't totally given up on him.

Anyway lets see. At least we almost agree on Jackson. Hope he continues to improve next year for is. Jury out.
