Of course you can go to your parents house.
However, one of your parents will have to leave the house first or face arrest.
Tough choice.

You can only go if they live in Barnard Castle, it is your wife's birthday and one of the children was to have a pee.

Can't you call yourself part of your parents' family for the duration?

Abandoning your wife and kids might make the conversation a bit awkward at first.

Your family will have to choose their least favourite and just four go over.

At least you'll get a bit of peace and quiet while they're all gone.

I'm going to see if the lambingo machine is available so I can draw out which one is staying at home each time. It has been thoroughly checked to make sure a random draw is selected every time

At least you are alert enough to realise that by doing so you are endangering your entire family. Unless, of course, you are following your instincts in which case it's fine.

You can all go provided your parents take it in turn to enjoy your company. One of them has to stay indoors. Simples.

They are your and her parents?

Either way, I suspect they would rather see her.

One of the benefits of using your initiative is that that both your parents can provide child care.

And why not drink and drive while you are at it.... if caught you only have to say you are testing your ability to drive whilst pissed.

If he was, he would of course have less trouble getting his head around this concept, what with him being able to count on one hand the number of permissible attendees.

Depends if they live over 30 minutes away. The police will probably suss him out if it is any further.

30 minutes would be a minor breach.

Presumably a few more miles would only be a less minor breach.

I guess you are talking around 60+ minutes for a slightly worrying breach and a lot longer before it becomes a noteworthy breach.

This question just came up on Radio 2. The figure of 6 basically came from the stereotypical family of 4 visiting 2 grandparents but of course not every family fits into this mould. The answer given was basically yes as your situation is still in the spirit of the new guidelines. What they are still looking at preventing is gatherings of around 30 etc as you are then into parties, wedding numbers etc. Ideally you would have a tag system where you are not all outdoors and in the same space at the one time.

Aah. I see I'm getting the Scottish "one household can meet another household" mixed up with the England and Wales "6 people max".

If I were you Bluffers I'd go for the Scottish rule which is more about limiting potential spread. Meeting up with people from potentially 5 other households would be worse than you getting together with your parents. If we're meant to use common sense.
