£1,000 per game played.

That would only be £2 grand a year then, £1 grand for the first round of the League Cup and another bag of sand (i.e. £1k) for the 1st round of the FA Cup. He wouldn't even be able to fly back to New Zealand first class on that! If we could squeeze a replay out of the FA Cup first round game we might be able to boost his wages up to £3k for the season. :-)
He'd make a lot more cleaning the stand roof on minimum wage.

Make sure your agent scrubs the cup run bonus incentive from the contract, they all fall for that one.

Sounds fair to me mate. There's going to be plenty of available spaces in the ITFC car park next season, I reckon even my missus could parallel park there by then! :-)

Are you any good at making feeble excuses on a Monday morning after getting turned over on the Saturday? There's a growing demand for that.

You're the full package mate, you'll do for me. But just a word to the wise, you might want to reconsider the promotion bonus demand. Perhaps ask for more doughnuts instead as the promotion bonus is just going to amount to the empty hole in the middle of a doughnut!
Pleasure doing business with you sir. :-)

Doughnuts Tuesday and Wednesday and it’s a deal!!

Does it matter that I’m really slow, not very fit, can’t tackle and my passing is a bit iffy at times

Some would suggest it is the relegation clause you should be looking at rather than promotion ones especially if you are getting a free doughnut Wednesday.

Not at all. Fist pumps and long throw ins are of greater importance. You can even make it as an international these days if you have a good long throw in.

A grand a week? Hmm that’s p155 poor money for a pro footballer even at our level, that means he’s gonna be on less than plenty of the fans who go to watch him play. Unless of course you assume footballers don’t pay tax? I earn more than a grand per week before tax
