Cheers (and the moose).

You guys are closer to the action obvs. I suspect he will ratchet up the rhetoric to unseen levels in the coming months to secure his second term. Think he will do a lot of damage.

He will certainly throw everything he can at it. He needs to win, there's a very real possibility he might end up in jail once he's no longer in the White House.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

I agree with a lot of your points but Domestic air travel in the US is actually expensive. America is a very different place in the middle.

The air travel was something the locals told me. Route 66 was a main route for travel to the coast 60 years ago - but now who (apart from people on holiday) would drive it say if you needed to get to California for a wedding?

Where as in years past the motels, restaurants, shops had a steady passing trade, now it's only the tourists passing through.

(As told me to me by some enlightened locals)

They also said how many of the derelict places were pretty much unsaleable. People moved to the cities for work, agriculture is more mechanised so little work in townsville. Old man dies, passes it on to the kids who have moved on - house soon falls into disrepair....

Agree absolutely that middle America is way different from the coasts. I quite liked it (especially Arizona) apart from the gun culture that annoyed me.

Poll: This new lockdown poll - what you reckon?

I think more people just can afford to fly would be a better way of putting it. Many of the states in the middle are full of amazing beauty and national parks. I love Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Colorado to name a few.

You’re right though, I was driving through Oklahoma two weeks ago (don’t ask) and it’s endless McDonald’s, Auto repair store and motels that had all seen better days. It really could have been 1974 for miles on end.

I was there briefly in Arkansas on my mini venture the other week. It wasn’t on 66 but it covers a few states and wide areas.

Most of the shooting for Ozark was in Georgia I believe because of the tax breaks!

Route 66 does pass through the Ozarks between St Louis and Springfield, which isn't the heart of the Ozarks though. It's also south of Lake of the Ozarks which is where the show is supposed to be set. Mrs Moose's family are from that neck of the woods. It might be filmed in GA but it's a pretty accurate portrayal of MO in my experience!

Thanks for the heads up. I do hope to do a roadtrip over there within the next five years.

I'll do my best to keep us out of a civil war until then!
