Weekend lag, but agree it is positive.

Experts are saying there are now around 9,400 new cases a day, which is over 5x the official Govt figure and an increase on last week.

It's a weekend figure where many aren't at work to collate them. I predict between 200 and 300 tomorrow.

I’m pretty sure the only figures I remember being quoted is that if only twenty thousand people died then we would have done well.

Maybe you can provide evidence on this half a million people claim?

I’m touched that you consider me a “board elite” but rest assured, that’s all in your head.

Now check this out and don't shoot the messenger, ok?

It's from gov.uk regarding stats for London.

"The total number of reported deaths in London hospitals of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 is now 6,026. The total number of deaths where COVID-19 mentioned on the death certificate is 178."

Fair enough, the 500,000 estimation was without a lockdown. But he also claimed Sweden would have 100,000 deaths by June without a lockdown and they are under 5,000.

Hope you are not too heart broken about being placed in the snob group on here. Maybe it was a little hasty on my part.

Good post Steve and with thousands flouting those lockdown regulations for weeks even before they were eased plus the mass protests that we've recently seen that second wave is gonna hit any moment now.

Although for full context, Sweden's deaths-per-million count is on a par with ours. Which is, lest we forget, the worst in Europe.

Well, it was lower than expect but still highest-per-million in Europe. So not really the resounding success you;re claiming.

Worldwide evidence is strongly supportive of early, effective lockdown, as opposed to herd immunity.

Could you give me your estimates moving forwards?

Seems like you’ve really got a handle on this whole Covid-19 thing, at least compared to those STUPID experts and scientists.

I am not trying to be an expert, but I think (not trying to present it as a fact) it will disappear by late July.

I just look at the inflated numbers presented to us every day on the news and don’t see the original estimated deaths, or any of these spikes everyone keeps saying will happen.

Your last sentence is what I would expect from the forum snobs.

Rubbish.

Last updated: 8 June 2020.

Belgium 9,606 (deaths) 83.7(death rate)

UK 40,597, 60.5

Spain 27,136, 58.1

Italy 33,899, 55.9

Sweden 4,694, 47.1

FULL lockdown Belgium with a 83.7 death rate nearly double that of Sweden.

UK - Lockdown - 528 deaths per million,
Sweden - No Lockdown - 455 deaths per million.

No proof lockdown makes any difference yet, and I'm saying that as someone who believes it was correct.
