But I just had the courage to look at the final table and saw we finished 4 points ahead of Burton, who had a game in hand over us.

And 3 of the 5 teams we actually managed to comfortably beat ended up relegated.

Christ.

We're in a really bad state at the moment, worse than a lot of people realise.

That's not to say that there aren't positives or the potential to improve, but if we carry on following the path Lambert has set then I sincerely wouldn't be surprised to see us relegated again.

You'll need even more courage to look at the Form table for the last 10 games.

The football is BETTER though.

This is the final ppg positions, with the arrows indicating movement compared to the 'proper' table.

Our form for the last 20 games was 0.9 ppg, so very much relegation form. If we carry on next season where we left off this one, relegation is more a probable than possible.

Christ indeed.

I honestly believe our only hope next year is praying that the youngsters end up being worth more than the senior pros in the squad this season. Folami, Morris, Lankester, Dobra, El Mizouni... let's hope they can step up for us.

Yeah, he needs to focus on the positives, not repeat meaningless sound bites until any significance or poignancy in the joke/point being illustrated has been completely lost.

Anyway, on an unrelated note...

As I said in another thread, I think a lot of clubs below the Premier League will be forced to look inwards at what they have in house instead of committing to new contracts and transfer fees for incoming players in what is an incredibly unstable and unpredictable situation.

I'd be impressed if there's another club in League One producing as many players who hold as much promise as we are currently.

I agree about league 1 clubs.
That just leaves the 3 relegated clubs from the Championship then.

Taking out our senior players but keeping everything else the same will see us get slaughtered imo.

Though the presence of the senior players hardly helped us, form wise, from November onwards. I do agree with your sentiments but we need more from all involved, owner, management, coaches and players.

Mick's problem was letting Tabby go. That was the final straw for me.

I don't see that we are, we have a decent enough playing squad with players coming through
